Renault Symbol is a subcompact car produced by the French car manufacturer Renault. The first generation was introduced as a version of the Clio II sedan, with different names: Clio Symbol (in Bulgaria, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine), Clio Classic (in Morocco, Algeria, Egypt and Asia), Clio Sedan (in Brazil, Chile, South Korea), Symbol (in Colombia and Venezuela), Thalia (in Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia). In Mexico, the model was sold as Nissan Platina; it was produced at the Renault-Nissan plant in Aguascalientes. In the second generation, the Clio was separated from the Clio, becoming the first three-box sedan to be part of the 2009 Renault Commitment plan. It was first presented at the 2008 Moscow Motor Show.
