The Volkswagen Jetta is a car designed and manufactured by the Volkswagen Group. It has been produced since 1979. Developed on the basis of the VW Golf. Unlike the Golf with a standard hatchback body (shortened), the standard body of the Jetta is a classic sedan.
The name of the model comes from the German designation for high-altitude jet streams - Jet-stream. From 1979 to 2009, five generations of the car were produced, which in Germany (for the European market) were called: Jetta I, Jetta II, Vento, Bora and Jetta V. Outside Europe, the Veto and Bora were produced under the basic names Jetta III and Jetta IV, respectively. On June 15, 2010 in New York, Volkswagen introduced a new model - the Jetta VI, which, according to the developers, unlike previous models, has nothing in common with the VW Golf.
