The Volkswagen Passat B7 is a compact crossover from Volkswagen, produced since 2007. Built on the platform of the Volkswagen Golf Plus. The car is assembled at Volkswagen plants in Wolfsburg, Germany and Kaluga
The name Passat B7 is made up of two German words: Tiger (tiger) and Leguane (iguana).
The car was presented in 2007 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the same year at the Shanghai Motor Show Volkswagen presented the Passat B7 HY Motion powered by hydrogen fuel cells.
In July 2011, the Passat B7 underwent a restyling. In general, the Passat B7 led to the new corporate style of Volkswagen, among other changes: the grille, headlights and taillights were changed. On the technical side, the engines have changed. A new Track & Style trim level has been added.
The car was available with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Engines (installed in Russia) - 1.4 TSI (mechanical supercharger + turbocharger - 150 hp and without a mechanical supercharger with turbocharger - 122 hp), 2.0 TSI (turbocharger 170 hp and 200 hp) and 2.0 TDI (140 hp). In both cases, the Haldex clutch is responsible for connecting the rear wheels, providing all-wheel drive with a variable gear ratio.
