Fusion is a subcompact van produced by Ford Motor Company and developed by its European division. Distinctive features: low price, improved safety, high ground clearance, spacious interior. Produced in Germany, at the plant in Cologne. Built on the basis of the Ford Fiesta.
In the CIS, it has won great popularity due to its high ground clearance and low price. Among cars, Ford had the second highest number of sales, behind only the Ford Focus. There was a modification of the Ford Fusion Calero, which was not supplied to the CIS, with unpainted bumpers and side skirts. In 2005, it underwent a re-styling, which changed the front and rear bumpers, moldings, lighting and front panel design.
The name of the model translates as "fusion", "alloy". The developers tried to emphasize that they created a car that combines the properties of a golf-class hatchback and a "parket" all-terrain vehicle. The design of the car turned out aggressive, because of the wide moldings in the bumpers and on the sides of the car, unpainted in body color, high ground clearance, and more serious (compared to the Fiesta) design. The model features a fairly large luggage compartment (337 liters).
